One thing I’ve learned since trying to go ‘plastic-free’ in my groceries is this: darn it, if the desire for convenience isn’t ingrained into my being. I blame this on the era we live in. It’s simply too easy and convenient to hit one store for all the necessary groceries (which seem to be wrapped in an incredible amount of plastic), rather than gather all my containers, and hit three different shops to get what I need, package-free.

BZ - Nackt und gerettet – die Region wird nachhaltiger

Diese Kluft zwischen bequemem Konsum per Mausklick und umweltbewusstem Einkaufen will nun ein neues Basler Start-up schliessen. Das Unternehmen mit dem Namen Lyfa möchte einen Onlinelieferdienst für verpackungsfreie Produkte anbieten. Auf der Website listet Lyfa bereits jetzt 18 verschiedene Produkte auf, wie Olivenöl, Linsen und Tee. Das Unternehmen befindet sich allerdings noch in der Probephase. Noch im November werden sie ein Crowdfunding starten, um die finanziellen Mittel für Produkte, Lager, Website und Logistik zusammenzutragen. Zurzeit können sich Kunden melden, die an Testlieferungen teilnehmen möchten.

Andere waren mit ihren Vorschlägen schon weiter. Der junge Michael May kam extra aus Schottland und ist schon Inhaber einer Firma namens Lyfa. Das Unternehmen ist ein Online-Lebensmittelgeschäft und Lieferservice für plastikfrei verpackte Lebensmittel. Lyfa soll den Markt in Basel erobern. Dazu brauchte May die Unterstützung von Deutschsprechenden, die seine Ideen für die Schweiz zugänglich machen würden.
